The paper devoted to the 100th anniversary of academician E.M. Sergeev highlights the life and creative work of this outstanding scholar. E.M. Sergeev was a full member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, distinguished scientist in engineering geology, soil and rock engineering, environment protection; a gifted teacher of students; laureate of Lenin and State Prizes, veteran of the Great Patriotic War. He contributed significantly to the development of the Soviet engineering geology, enriched this field with fruitful ideas, and created the school of engineering geology, which gained a world-wide recognition.

THE NEWEST STRUCTURAL AND GEODYNAMIC ZONING OF WEST-SIBERIAN PLATFORM

The article considers the structural and geodynamic conditions of the West-Siberian platform. An allocation scheme of the main neotectonic forms of the West-Siberian platform is presented as a part of the map of modern tectonic structure of the Russian Federation, scale 1:2 500 000. The structural and geomorphological analysis is performed on the basis of this map, and the principal regional regularities in the general tectonic structure are identified. The map also permits us to reveal the regularities in the development of discrete deformations in the Earth's crust at different levels, as well as in the space-and-time distribution of the newest structural and geodynamic zones in the West-Siberian platform.

The paper addresses the issue of sustainable development in permafrost zone, which is currently poorly consecrated in the literature. In the permafrost area, dangerous natural and natural-technogenic processes develop actively. These processes lead to disastrous consequences and enormous economic damage. The authors have analyzed indicators of sustainable development at three levels (local, regional and territorial). The authors propose a list of 18 indicators of sustainable development, which depends on the condition of permafrost and the activity of permafrost processes.

HYDROGEOLOGICAL PREREQUESITIES OF INDUSTRIAL EFFLUENT DISPOSAL UPON DEVELOPING THE FOREMOST PLOT IN THE YURUBCHENO-TOKHOMSKOYE FIELD

Cross-section analysis of geological and hydrogeological conditions in the Yurubcheno-Tokhomo hydrocarbon zone showed that the Lower Cambrian Osinskii horizon is of great interest for the disposal purposes of large volumes of effluent and bottom waters. Physicochemical numerical simulation of hy-drogeochemical processes using 3D-model of filtration, which proceeds between the service well and reservoir, made it possible to estimate the effect percentage of the industrial effluent injection. It is established that the highest man-caused change of the mineralogical composition and poroperm properties of reservoir is registered upon the treated effluent disposal. The zone of man-caused metasomatism, evolving in reservoir due to the wastewater injection will be up to 800-840 m by the end of fifth year of landfill exploitation.

ASSESSMENT OF DYNAMIC PARAMETERS OF EXOGENOUS GEOLOGICAL PROCESSES BASED ON ONE-TIME REMOTE SENSING DATA

The paper proves a principle statement that even one-time remote sensing data give us information concerning quantitative dynamic parameters of exogenous geological processes. The models of mathematical morphology of landscape are shown to be the tool for these quantitative dynamic parameters. The techniques for obtaining the dynamic parameters as series of special quantitative characteristics of landscape patterns are revealed. Specific values of dynamic parameters are obtained for lake-thermokarst, thermokarst with fluvial erosion, and alluvial plains.

The paper considers the influence of external natural factors such as solar and lunar eclipses, as well as the Moon in the new-moon and full-moon phases, on amplitude-frequency characteristics of the micro-seismic background registered in seismic and aseismic areas by the long-term seismic monitoring. It is shown that the influence of these factors differs significantly in the regions of different tectonic activity. This influence is much stronger in seismic regions. These regions also show a stronger influence of the remote catastrophic earthquakes on the environment tension. The conclusion is drawn about the obligatory continuous tracing the geoenvironment tension upon construction and operation of vital objects, such as nuclear power plants, hydroelectric power stations, etc., especially in seismic regions.

ANALYSIS AND PREDICTION OF LAND SUBSIDENCE CAUSED BY GROUNDWATER EXPLOITATION IN HA NOI CITY, VIET NAM

The article presents the research results of progressing surface subsidence caused by consolidation of compressible aquiferous deposits as a result of increasing groundwater pumping in Hanoi (Vietnam). The investigations included modeling of settlement development depending on time. The calculated settlements satisfactorily correlate with the data of field observations. The authors point out seriousness of the problem and necessity of continuing those investigations in the territory of Hanoi.

MODELING OF MULTICOMPONENT DIFFUSION UNDER INDUSTRIAL WASTE MIGRATION IN HETEROGENEOUSLY LAYERED MEDIUM

In most cases migration of groundwater from the sources of pollution takes place in heterogeneous medium, where the full capacity is defined mainly by the capacity of less permeable blocks of porous rocks, whereas convection transport goes in channels of less capacity. Mass exchange in blocks and channels is usually described as a diffusion transport on the base of Fick's law separately for every solution component. A model of mutual diffusion migration of ions — groundwater components — is presented in this work. Effects arising under the migration and differing (sometimes greatly) from the results calculated with a model of independent diffusion are shown in terms of nine-component solutions in areas of waste disposal in Tomsk and Dimitrovgrad.
